SquashTM moves to LTS releases

Henix ships four major versions* of SquashTM per year, one every three to four months. Requests raised by our users are reviewed at each cycle. This pace shortens the time between an approved enhancement and its availability.

New support policy

From version 14.0 onwards, one major version in four is an LTS (Long Term Support) release — one per year. Should there be an exception, you will be notified in advance.

The supported versions are now:

the two most recent LTS releases
the latest major version, whether LTS or not.

An LTS release remains supported until the second following LTS is released, i.e. roughly two years. The support period of a yearly version is therefore unchanged.

What this means for users:

If you upgrade once a year: this is what we recommend. Install that year's LTS. Nothing changes.

If you upgrade every two years: install every other LTS. Nothing changes either.

If you need a feature before the next LTS: install the major version that contains it. It is supported until the next major version, which means you will then need to upgrade every quarter.

If your upgrade procedures are quarterly: you can keep that pace.

* As a reminder, a SquashTM version number reads <major>.<minor>.<patch>: X.0.0 = major version, X.X.0 = minor version, X.X.X = patch.
